ECOncrete®'s tide pools are designed to create well-defined local ecosystems that simulate natural water ponds typical to rocky coasts.
Tide pools compensate for loss of natural intertidal habitats and they can be integrated into rip-rap zones for increasing biodiversity and biological productivity.
ECOncrete®'s tide pools were installed alongside pier 4 at the Brooklyn Bridge Park and are scheduled to be installed in the southern shore of Staten Island as part of the “Living Breakwaters” project now under construction.
